Some college students are proposing the idea of using kids camping chairs instead of the chairs used in the everyday college classroom. They are giving many reasons for this new idea. College chairs are very hard; especially during summer school, one's back can really start to hurt when he sits in the same position for an hour-and-a-half. Also, color can be added to the classroom with these kids' chairs. It would make college a more enjoyable place.
“Well, what do you think about my idea, Chris?” inquired David. “Aren't you tired of sitting in those hard folding chairs? I think that we could even raise the money to buy those kids camping chairs. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks it's a good idea. Oh, and you know what? The teachers could use a director's . I'm sure they will like that!”
“Well, it sounds great to me, David. Let's take the idea to a few others and see what they say.”
Thus, Chris and David started their mission. They asked quite a few students thought; after obtaining approval from the administration, they began to plan some fund raisers to raise money for the kids camping chairs.
First, they began by selling ice-cream sundaes during the college's lunch time. That proved to be a good idea until winter came. No one wanted to freeze anymore than he was freezing already. Well, then they began to sell hot chocolate before and after classes. That raised even more money than the sundaes had! Now, they had $3,000, but they still needed much more.
Then, they got a good idea! People from the neighborhood could come to a college student slave auction and get a slave for eight hours on a Saturday. The price would start at $50 a college student; there was no limit to how many college students anyone could buy.
The auction was a great success! Many neighbors came, and the college students were quickly auctioned off. The lowest anyone was auctioned off for was $100, and the highest was $2,500.
None of the college students had to do anything outrageous on their work day. Most washed windows, window blinds, and cars; cleaned kitchens, painted walls, cleaned out garages, mowed lawns, raked leaves, babysat kids, and ran errands. Some helped people move; others planted flowers and trees. Some baked pies and cookies; others cooked dinners for entire families!
With that, the money was earned! The college students would have their kids camping chairs, and the professors would have their director's camping chairs with tables. The present folding chairs were sold; with that money, the hallways were repainted [splatter paint].
The college students enjoyed their new camping chairs greatly. They were in various colors: red, khaki, black, blue, and hunter green. The professors enjoyed sitting instead of standing for entire class periods.
Overall, the students' well-being improved because they were not sitting in chairs that were hard on their backs; the kids' camping chairs helped them enjoy their classes more.
