Folding Tables for Camping

One day, a Miss Henry was cleaning out her basement and found many things that were not needed anymore; among them were ten aluminum camping folding tables .  She thought, “Why do I have these?  I never go camping.  They are simply taking up room that I could be using for something else.”  Therefore, she decided to have a yard sale. 

Her first customer was a young mother with a five-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl.  When the lady saw Mrs. Henry's folding tables for camping, she exclaimed, “Why, my husband decided that we are going camping in a month!  These will be perfect for our trip!”  Therefore, she bought two of them. 

Since it was a month before the camping trip, the young mother decided that she could let her kids use it as one of their big toys.  She put the tables in the basement, took some old yet pretty blankets, covered each table with a blanket, and allowed her kids to “camp out” one night a week downstairs, each in his own sleeping bag. 

During the day, the children turned their “camping tents” into other play things.  Mary, the little girl, got her dolls and played house with them under the table, turned doll house.  Matthew, the little boy, turned his camping folding tables into a parking garage for all his matchbox cars.  He even made two stories for it! 

Mrs. Henry's next customer was Mrs. Hanson, a lady who was having many guests toward the end of the week and needed more tables in order to seat all her guests.  When she saw Mrs. Henry's folding tables for camping, she thought, “What a good way to have extra tables if I need them, but also to be able to fold them up and store them when I do not have a large number of people at my house!”  Therefore, she bought four of those folding camping tables, easily fit them into her van, and drove off to plan for her big day with company.

When Mrs. Hanson arrived at home, she washed her tables well, and they looked brand new.  “What a good deal I got!”  she rejoiced.  Next, she found some plain white tablecloths and spread one across each table.  Then, she found her lace tablecloths and put those over the plain ones.  My, how pretty the tables looked!  Not one of her guests would ever be able to guess that they were eating at folding tables for camping! 

On Friday, Mrs. Hanson's guests arrived for the big get-together.  They all were amazed at how clean her house was and how many pretty tables she had; everyone had a place at a table, and each place had an elegant name card so that everyone felt as if he had a place of his own.   The evening went well; the meal was delicious, and no one ever guessed that Mrs. Hanson transformed folding camping table !

A few weeks later, the Henry family traveled to Wyoming for their family vacation.  Mr. Henry was proud of his wife for making such a wise investment as to buy a good folding table for their camping trips. 

Therefore, we have seen that folding tables for camping, with some imagination added, can be used for other events during the year.
