Grandma Comes for a Visit Because of Coleman Rocking Camp Chair
Grandma and Grandpa heard of the Coleman rocking chair that Brian and Jessica bought for their camping trip. “Maybe we could go with them this year. They have been asking us for years to go camping with them,” said Grandpa to Grandma.
“We don't know how much longer we will be able to go camping, and we have not gone for decades. You are right. We should go with them. Also, the kids are growing up, and before you know it, they will be out of the house. Let's call them and tell them that we'll go. Also, they have one Coleman rocking camp chair; let's go buy another so that there will be two among all of us.” It was agreed, and Grandpa and Grandma were able to find one online with free shipping!
“You mean Grandpa and Grandma are actually coming camping with us this year?” cried Brianna when her mother told her. “Tommy, guess what?” Brianna excitedly yelped as she ran outside. “Tommy, Grandma and Grandpa are going camping with us this year!”
“Stop joking like that,” retorted Tommy. “You know Grandma and Grandpa have better things to do than to go camping with us.”
“No, I'm not joking!” exclaimed Brianna. “Go ask Mom if you don't believe me.”
Tommy did go ask Mom, and she confirmed the fact. Also, this year, they were going camping in a new place—Glacier National Park in Montana.
Since the camping trip was only a few days away, Tommy and Brianna now excitedly helped their parents finish packing what they would need for the trip.
“Don't forget to pack our ,” exclaimed Brianna. “I'm sure Grandma will love it!”
“Of course we cannot forget that; I am sure both Grandma and Grandpa will enjoy it very much!”
In two days, Grandma and Grandpa arrived at their children's house. They had their suitcases all packed and had a few other camping essentials with them.
On the way to Glacier National Park, Tommy and Brianna listened intently as Grandpa recalled his camping experiences when he was a boy. He had been to Glacier a long time ago!
As they pulled into the park and found their reserved cabin, Tommy and Brianna were in amazement at the park's beauty. They had never been to Montana before; South Dakota surely was not this pretty!
On the second day of the family's camping trip, Brian and Grandpa decided that they should drive the Going-to-the-Sun Road.
“Are we really going to see the sun?” asked Tommy?
“No, Son,” said Brian, “The road just goes really high up; that is why it is called that. It goes to the summit of the mountain. When we get there, you will see how beautiful it is. Now, grab that Coleman rocking camp chair, and let's get in the van.”
Grandpa also brought hisalong for Grandma, and they took off.
“Look!” cried Brianna after about fifteen minutes of driving. “I can see a road below us.”
“Yes, honey, that is the road on which we drove up here,” explained Jessica.
“Really? We're that high up?” wondered Brianna.
“Yes, and we will get even higher up,” said Grandpa. “The trees at the summit are small. You are taller than they are!”
After a few stops, the entire family got out of the car, and, with theirrocking chairs, began to hike up the beautiful mountain.
When Grandma and Grandpa got tired, they rested each in his while the remainder of the family hiked up to the beauty farther up the mountain.
